Teak armchair

Armchair known as "Upholstered sofa easy chair" in solid teak and imitation leather. Backrest, seat and armrests slightly tilted and covered in original black imitation leather with piping. "Compass" type side leg assembly in teak with profiled, flat legs, connected by two supporting rails underneath the seat. Separate armrests with "roll" type stuffed covers.

Circa 1958-59.

  • Height: 28.3 / 72 cm.
  • Length: 22.4 / 57 cm.
  • Depth: 26.8 in / 68 cm. (+/-).

Provenance: Panjab University, sector 14, student housing including "Hostel for girls" (1959), High Court (1960) and various administrative buildings in Chandigarh, sector 1.

Reference: One similar example at City Museum in Chandigarh, sector 10.

Note : This armchair also existed covered with cotton fabric.
