Large black lacquered dining table in solid teak and teak veneer. Veneered, lacquered rectangular top resting on a bevelled apron and four slanting, tapered legs.
The black lacquered Chandigarh furniture was designed as a protective measure and for easier cleaning. It was therefore found in cafeterias and university restaurants, as well as medical and hospital centres.
Rare table, few examples made, some of varying sizes.
Provenance: "Himalayan Mess Hostel" in Chandigarh.
