Teak armchair

Armchair known as "Cross easy chair" in solid teak and braided canework. Canework seat and "X" type double leg assembly, forming armrests in the upper part and connected by a crosspiece. Flat canework backrest, slanted and separate from the seat.

Circa 1955-56.

Dimensions:

  • Height: 27.5 in / 70 cm.
  • Width: 20.5 in / 52 cm.
  • Depth: 28.7 in / 73 cm. (+/-).

Provenance: "M.L.A. Hostel" (hostel for civil servants), and  "M.L.A. Flat" (residence for civil servants) in Chandigarh, sectors 3 and 4.

Reference: Swiss National Museum in Zurich. Le Corbusier Center in Chandigarh, sector 19.
